  One Call Claims was contracted through our homeowners insurance (Federated National Homeowners Insurance) to begin the process of assessing the damage to my home caused by Hurricane Irma. I was assigned Mark Ledford as my insurance adjuster and made an appointment through his assistant Megan, which she scheduled for October 29, 2017 from 3:00 pm – 5:00pm EST. My wife and I waited at home during our scheduled time slot only to find that no one showed up or called. I called Megan at 5:15pm and left a message informing her that no one has contacted us or bothered to show up. At 5:54pm Mr. Ledford called my cell phone to inform that he came to our home at “exactly 3pm” in his words. He stated that he knocked on the door, rang the doorbell and called my cell phone. I explained to him that what he is saying is unlikely given that both my wife and I were downstairs by the front door waiting for him from 2:45pm until 5:15pm; therefore, we would have heard both a knock at the door and/or the doorbell ring. Additionally, we have a doorbell that audibly sends motion alerts and ring alerts throughout our home and is also connected to both cell phones, meaning that we are alerted not only when the doorbell is rung but also when there is any form of motion at the front door. Furthermore, the doorbell records and stores video footage of all motion that takes place within a number of feet outside of the front door. We also have a dog which alerts us whenever someone is present at our front door. None of these occurrences took place. Mr. Ledford stated that he took pictures of our home while he was there and could send them to us as proof. After examining the pictures, we discovered that they conveniently had the date and time stamp cropped out. Also, the picture showed my car in the driveway of our home which proved that he was not there during the 3pm-5pm timeslot due to the fact that I have surveillance footage of my car being pulled into my garage at 2:39pm; meaning that Mr. Ledford would have had taken that picture prior to our appointment time of 3pm-5pm. Additionally, I had no missed calls from him, no voice messages and no text messages. When confronting Mr. Ledford about the details that proved he was less than truthful about our appointment, he stuttered his way through the conversation and kept insisting he was there but could not provide an explanation as to why our evidence does not corroborate with his story. It is quite apparent that Mr. Ledford did not feel like honoring his commitment to working today and simply drove by our home outside of our appointment time frame and took a few pictures. He did not bother to call, knock or ring the doorbell. The level of unprofessionalism displayed and lack of respect for the customer’s time is absolutely unacceptable.
